Fruits,Vegs et Toi?….Pt1

Image (8)We often take for granted what fruits and vegetables do to our bodies, skin and hair….So I would, from time to time, point out the importance of different fruits and vegetables especially those that are easy to find around us. Most of these fruits and vegetables are rich in Vitamins and Minerals and these go along way in keeping us healthy.

First let’s take a look at Tomatoes….This can be considered a fruit and also a vegetable. Contains Protein, Vitamins A,B3,B6 and Calcium. It has antioxidants which help treat Cancer and contains an antioxidant called lycopene which helps it act as a natural sunscreen for the body and the hair! If you want glowing smooth skin, tomatoes will do the trick!

It also contains Vitamins C and E, stimulants for healthy hair and helps to cure hair loss. Did you know it can be used as a natural conditioner,leaving your hair shiny and soft?It also helps to lock in moisture and can be used remove excess build up in scalp when its juice is used to rinse hair.

Next is Mango…. very sweet and juicy fruit. Rich in Vitamins A which helps to treat dandruff and add shine,C and E which helps in blood circulation in scalp promoting hair growth. It can be used as a moisturizer and a great conditioner. Its seed oil contains fatty acids,vitamins and minerals to prevent hair loss.

It contains Beta carotene;it helps prevent Asthma,reduce dark spots,treat blackheads, acne and also promotes healthy complexion and help in weight loss!

Lastly, Carrots loaded with Beta Carotene,Vitamins A,C and E!!! No wonder rabbits love carrots lol *chuckles*….It helps prevent Hair loss as the Vitamins C&E present help improve blood circulation in scalp promoting hair growth.

Drinking its juice is healthy for both hair and skin, especially in the dry season because it fights dryness and in summer can be used as natural sunblock! It boosts immune system, thickens your hair and makes it stronger!

Tomatoes Recipe for scalp

Rub the Paste on scalp (you can use ketchup), leave 10mins then rinse. For other benefits eat the fruit and drink the juice.

Mango recipe for conditioner

Take the pulp out, blend with olive oil and apply on hair; leave for 1hour and rinse. You could also look for products containing mango/mango butter/oil.

Carrot Recipe

Use carrot oil on scalp.
