Hey Guys… I know we have been MIA on here but it’s for good reasons…too much has been going on- good stuff tho!!
So recently I went to New York *insert Alicia Key’s ‘Empire State of Mind’* for a friend’s event, she hosted the Miss Nigeria USA Pageant and it was super fun!!(see more pictures here).
I used the opportunity to explore New York with close friends I hadn’t seen in ages.. We were obviously tired from all the running around for the Pageant we slept all morning and almost all afternoon! Quite exciting… we did some catching up, attended parties as it was Memorial Day weekend, ate a lot and took the most pictures we could.
Luckily for me I had protective styling on (fixed a weave) so I didn’t have to worry about my hair that much but then it was the first time since I went natural that I had my hair done in a Hair Salon usually do everything myself. The braiding was too tight (I was told it would loosen up but its almost 2weeks and it’s still as tight!) I now have little bumps all round my hair lines, sometimes it hurts! Been tempted to take it off buh I really want my hair to rest a bit, u no…. Buh I do the regular oiling in areas where I can see my scalp.
We visited Time Square, saw the Empire State building, stayed in the Bronx (*wide grin*), had Peruvian dinner on one of the days at a restaurant called “PioPio” and my gosh was it amazing… (I’m very keen on exploring dishes of different cultures), then mostly Chinese and Nigerian dishes the rest of the days, went to Sahara radio station with my friend for a brief interview,, Partied a lot, took a little tour, sadly didn’t get to see the Statue of Liberty, hopefully I’ll plan another trip as I’m not so far away.
Anyways enjoy the pictures will try to take better ones next time! Don’t forget to check back to read the upcoming post for healthy hair…

Have a blessed week!
As Always
Cheers
Jasmine
