‘E’ foods for Healthy hair

Keyword: Enzymes

E is for: Egg, Eggplant, Endadame

Enzymes are very important contributors to the health of your hair.

They are complex proteins that enable chemical reactions to occur. For example, digestive enzymes help your body break down food in your body.

Systemic enzymes on the other hand, influence the increase of blood circulation, improving it so necessary nutrients can reach your hair follicles: this in turn leads to hair growth. You can increase the enzymes by taking supplements or through diets made up of more raw foods like fruits, nuts and vegetables. Let’s look at a few below…

Eggplant

Eggplant has high water content, and is rich in Vitamins A, C, beta-carotene and other antioxidants. It also contains potassium, calcium, magnesium, folate and phosphorous. Including eggplant in your meals/diet can make hair stronger as the nutrients it contains helps nourish scalp from inside to ensure stronger roots. It promotes hair growth due to enzyme content which stimulates the follicles of your hair and also prevent scalp infections. It’s a great add to your diet, and you can find great recipes online!
